EMF Meters

Postby stoner on Sat Dec 01, 2007 4:29 pm

What ones do you guys use?
We have some trifield units, the standard and the natural DC field units. Latest one is a digital readout has a nice clicking sounds that speeds up it the field gets stronger. Have to say I like this unit, I was in a reported "haunted room" recently and I got some great info form it. It's good for relative measurments, i.e reading 16 compared to reading of 36. I find that on TAPs and other ghost hunting shows that a lot of the equipment poeple never talk in proper units WRT the firlds as this would a least give us an idea of the work that could be done under the influence of an electro---magnetic field.

We have taken some interesting reading from the Trifield Natural one though, as it its alam has gone off when a "gifted" person was experienceing something ( i could see nothing, but at least the EMF reader went off!)

It's my favourite part of investigations TBH, getting a increase in electro magnetic fields, for that reason i have far to many meters, and I hate those bloody call sensor ones with the little red lights and the crazy beeping and the little lead hanging out of them. Every paranormal investigation group that appears on "A Haunting" use them, I think they just have one kit that they share on that film set.

anyway thats my rant over and done with. :D

We have the TriField Meter and the Cell Sensor Meter. The TriField isn't the natural meter. I enjoy the TriField a lot, since it operates on three axes, rather than a single axis like the Cell Sensor. Do you have to keep the Natural Meter somewhat stationary to get a good reading?

yeah you do, the time we got a real reaction from it was in Ross Castle, one of the lads was lying sideways on the bed and complained that he felt as if he was being pushed down. I had left the meter on the wooden end of the bed, very near to him, and it has a little alarm and it went off just as he was experiencing something

I would really recommend the Blue Trifield meter

yeah it was good to see it working alright, you guys are correct though, a lot of people just lash EMF meters around and dont even know what they should expect, they dont even know how to hold them.

I was on an investigation in an old famine jail once. And some people borrowed some of the excess equipment. One of the girls was freaked because
"the meter thingy went mad"

So I guess the place is haunted so right :D

Without some baseline readings, and knowing what you're doing and what could give a "reading", I'm afraid many folks mistake the needle going crazy for an entity.

we use several different EMF meters on investigations. Cell Sensors, Gauss Masters, and a Sperry 200. I am looking at a Natural EM at the moment. Has anyone used the Natural EM?

Check with Stoner, in the first post of the thread. I think they have one.

yeah sorry for missing this one, we have the standard and the natural trifield, i love the natural one, moving your hand around it sets it off, and depending on how active your barin is  , it will send it into a tissy. I've been using a single axis digital one recently, just using it for relative readings so i keep it pointed in the one direction and flat on the table, the only issue i find with trifield meters is how difficult it can be to read them.

We have about 6 types of EMF meters (they are my fav equipment) if i was to be left with one, i'd ask for the natural blue trifield.

k guys i'm at it again, we have one of the nice lutron emfs like taps, i'm gonna stick a few leds in the circuit to make the screen lit, i'm also working on reverse engineering one so we can hopefully make our own, cost-effectively. We also have a few of the cheap electrosensor IR ones, we are gonna swap out the push buttons for toggle switches, they eat up batteries so we may end up swapping some resistors to dim down the leds to conserve battery life, although i would much rather upgrade them to lutrons or trifields!!!

I have the TriField, but it isn't backlit. Are you saying, Kevin, that you could rig it WITH a backlight? THAT would be sweet!!
