Radiation Detector

Postby stoner on Thu Nov 01, 2007 3:18 pm

We dont have one, do you guys? I'm very close to getting one as the only thing I ever saw that was remotely ghostly was some white sparks of light on an investiogation, I've read that sometimes this is can be due to radiation, if you have one do you get decent results?

We don't have one yet, but I can see where they would be useful. I've seen GH use one before, but I haven't seen them use it again for quite awhile. Where have you seen one for sale, and what kind of cost are we talking about?

I recently picked up this little meter. I haven't had the chance to use it as much as I would like. Its a radiation detector but this meter detects microwave radiation, a lot of groups praise this meter but like I said, I can't give it a review because I haven't used in an actual investigation.

But hey you cant go wrong with this because it is small, digital/audible, and $29. Plus I highly recommend ordering from this company, they have some harder to find meters and good prices. Hope this helps!

Give me an idea on how it works, and how it ties in to the paranormal. For the price its something I would not mind trying out.

well in theory ghosts are energy. And when they manifest can give off radiation that can be picked up by a radiation meter. Whether it be microwave, electric, or gamma radiation.

With this meter all you need to do is press and hold down on the orange button.Wait for a calibration, then it will "zero" itself out. Just walk around the location as you would with any other meter and look for strange readings. It will beep and a digital (non-lit) reading pops up.

the range on this meter to the active field is approx 2 feet and the units of measurement are called mw/cm2 microwave per centimeter squared. The ranger on the meter is 0 to 99.9 mw/cm2. Paranormal readings are from .05 to 3.0.

Hope this helps.

thanks biddle, I really want to check to see if there is any radioactive material in the rooms, kind of like an EMF sweep. TBH I'd have it and when the "sparks" are seen I'd use the meter, I dont think I'd drop any of my favourites to have a radiation meter, I just want to be prepared for the next time I'm shown these sparks

We've decided to get one sometime this week. So it should be very interesting to see how it works at Waverly.
Thanks again Biddle
