We talked a little bit about this the other night. What's everyone's thoughts on the cage, and whether it's necessary or not.

as all things in this field is of course experimental. it seems alot of people have sucess with this box but whos to say if the copper is picking up radio signals or telephone conversations. I would like to try to build one and experiment with it.

If you have a cage and want to test its effectiveness, drop your cell phone into it and call your number. If the phone rings, your cage isn't working as it should. If you've got a small radio that fits into the cage, test it out set to several different stations across the AM and FM bands to see if you get anything other than static.

Never trust that your cage is working until you test it out with some controlled experiments.
