Command center

Postby GrimReaper on Mon Dec 24, 2007 12:03 am

We need to place one central area for a command center. I suggest that each group if possible, bring at least one folding table to put their equipment on. I know we will have 5 possibly 6 IR cameras run so we usually set a table up to place the DVR's and monitors on. We are allowed to come into Waverly that Sunday morning to set up equipment, I think this is a BIG plus, running cable take awhile.

What exactly is the power situation there? We've got hundreds upon hundreds of feet of extension cords, and cables for all our group's IRs...but if need be, we can work on obtaining some type of generator or something.

But yeah, we'll definitely bring our table and our monitors...and as soon as we get a better understanding of what everyone is bringing exactly, can work on placements so that we're covering the most space as possible, hitting the hot spots fairly, and the equipment isn't interfering with each other.

I'm a map maker by profession... so I think I can come up with a breakdown of the sanatarium by floors and sectors that will help us keep track of where the equipment will be set up, where the teams will be moving, etc.... this place is huge and its easy to get confused as to what floor you're on sometimes, much less what room you're looking in.

Awesome. I was just talking about floor plans in the other post. Yeah, it's going to be critical for that part to be organized!

There are some electrical outlets located at certain stairwells, but not all of them. We'll need to set up some type of "power area" to allow everyone access to power. There's plenty of power there, but it's not located all over the building.

We'll have five IR cameras that will be set up, with accompanying cable. Usually, we set up a monitoring station on a particular floor for monitoring purposes, and they should be out of the way enough to where they shouldn't interfere with anyone else. We'll set up DAR's all over the building to catch EVP's, but these will be unobtrusive as well.

So I have to watch what I say about ya all? Hehehe.

I think we'll be bringing PROBABLY three IRs...but I dunno yet. Depends on who all exactly is coming from HPIR, lol. I only have one that actually works well, and the founders have two. We may bring our wireless mic, but we'll carry the rest of our audio on us most likely.

And...as per the norm for HPIR investigations, I'll bring a big cooler of water and Diet Pepsi and some chips and stuff in case we need snack breaks that everyone is welcome to.

We have a few proprietary pieces of equipment that will hopefully come in handy... I just can't wait to try them out!

Anyone else bringing a Thermal Imager?

Postby thermalconcepts on Sat Jan 05, 2008 2:47 pm

If there is anyone else that has a Thermal Imager, and are planning on attending this Waverly trip. Please contact me or get in touch with Grim or Phantom. I would like to discuss the setup and possible ways to incorporate our camera's so that anyone there who wants to observe the camera and see it used, will have a chance to see this.

Thanks, Dennis. Yes, if anyone else has a thermal, let us know so that we can get maximum use out of the devices. Dennis knows his stuff, and he will help make it the best experience you can have!!
